Comment : As you can see above, SDSU is one of the largest universities in California. Especially, SDSU is famous for research, Business, international fields, and Language Institute. Business major is very competitive and popular. SDSU has some very unique majors like my major, ISCOR(International Security and Conflict Resolution). SDSU had so many study abroad programs so you can see a lot of exchange students or international students on campus. ALI(American Language Institute) is known as the institute which has great programs.

This is my class schedule. I am taking 15 units, in that five classes (ECON101, GEOG102, HIST100, REL S101, ISCOR301). One upper division class and all premajor classes. I am done with my all classes after 2 everyday I am taking classes only morning from 8, because I think when I take 8′o clock classes I feel I have a longer day than other people does. I can do something else after my early morning class. However, it is little hard to wake up at 6 in the morning and I can’t go out on thursday night with my friends because I have a 8′O CLOCK CLASS on FRIDAY… Other than that…. It is good
haha ~
If you are wondering what kind major we have and every department has what kinds of classes, go and check http://www.sdsu.edu/schedule/ When you register classes, go https://sunspot.sdsu.edu/portal/ and choose class section! Registration fees (per semester): undergraduate: $2787
Out-of-State/Non-Resident tuition: $372/unit
SDSU recently increase their tuigion fee, so now for international student it’s unbelievably expensive… (BUT compared to Private Universities it is much cheaper… ) I am sad that we don’t really have scholarship.. we need SCHOLARSHIP ;)

I think the best way to get involved on campus is joining the organizaiton. When I got here for the first time, it was quit embarassing. Why?
American friends used so many slang words and speak so fast, it was hard to completely understand what they’re saying. Also, it was hard to make American friends. However, my friend introduced me AKPsi which is a business fraternity. I could say it chaged my life in America. I met so many people and they helped me a lot. I didn’t have a car and they were always willing to give me a ride, we had so many exciting activities like ropes course, broomball, retreat, carwash(for fundraising), BBQ party
and company tour, etc. Besides, it was business one so I learned how to build my resume, improve my public speech skill and interview skill. We don’t have fraternity and sorority in my country so it was pretty new concept to me. Nevertheless, it was a AWESOME experience. I met my best friends there, too. All my rommates are from this organization. If you want adventure, well, now go for it! I would say again, joinging the organization on campus is the best way to adjust campus and America.

On campus
Accessibility to the campus
Making friends easily
Simplicity life
Free gym membership
Expensive
Little privacy
Limited space
Off campus
Independence&Responsibility
Surrounding that you prefer(beach, downtown, etc)
Saving money
Transportation(If you don’t have a car)
More paper works(Utility bills)
I would recommend to live on campus for people who are freshmen or who just transferred. It will help you to adjust the school life and San Diego life easily. Living on campus is quite expensive and you should share your room/ bathroom but you will make many friends easily, you don’t have to worry about the utility bills and transportation. Also, you won’t be late the class. On the other hand, if you have been here for more than one semester or a year, I would recommend you to live off campus. If you live off campus, you have to care about everything by yourself (like furnitures, electricity, sewage, etc) but you can live wherever you want. For example, you love the beach? Then live near beach and jump in whenever you want! Do you like night life then go to downtown! Moreover, you can find a cheap place!
Check out this place you can find furnitures, houses or anything at cheap price! http://sandiego.craigslist.org/
If you are Korean, check out www.sdsaram.com! It is pretty awesome website!

Hi~ Everyone! I will tell you little bit of myself. My name is Semi Yoon and I am from South Korea. I have been in States for about a year. I came to San Diego last summer as an exchange student from Chung-Ang University in Korea. It was an exchange student program in CAU(My Korean University) but at the same time it was one of the programs in ALI(Semester at SDSU). My major is ISCOR(International Security and Conflict Resolution). I was interested in international relations and development area and I want to work for the United Nations in the future so when I found this unique major I decided to transfer to here. In this year Fall 2009 I got accepted to SDSU as a transfer student. Anyway, I love to meet new people and new culture & language. I am an outgoing person and I smile most of my day
My friends sometimes say ”Stop smiling!” to me but I want to be a person who can make other people smile. From now on, I will tell you about my life in SD and several tips about adjusting in SDSU or US little by little. If you have any questions about me or SDSU life or anything shoot me an email! semimile@hotmail.com Also, if you are more confortable with Korean, here is my Korean Blog address. http://blog.naver.com/semimile
